One of the earliest maturing varieties available, 'Timperley Early' has succulent, red-based pink stems and a delicious flavour.
sorry, currently out of stock
One of the best varieties for early forcing, Timperley Early can produce tender, pink stems as early as February. Or, if you’re satisfied with a later harvest, it matures well on its own as well. The stems are pink streaked with apple green, delightfully tangy, and perfect for all manner of desserts.
Rhubarb crops over a long period of time with net to no maintenance or effort. It’s completely hardy, rarely gives in to disease, and can grow in just about any garden soil. All it needs is well-drained soil and full sun.
Rhubarb is a perennial and can be cropped for more than ten years after planting (though it may need to be divided after five years).
Timperley Early is a RHS AGM winner and is perfect for our British climes.
Caution: The leaves of rhubarb plants are toxic if eaten. Eat only the stems.
