[60-80 days] This Italian Calabrese sprouting broccoli produces a non-stop crop through the late summer, fall, and even through much of the winter. It grows up to 2’ (60cm) tall and produces heads up to 7” (17cm) in diameter. But the best part of sprouting broccoli is the side shoots, which if you keep them picked, will keep coming on all season long and well into the winter. What’s more, the leaves, stems, and buds are all quite tasty and will give you a plethora of greens over a long growing season.
What is Green Sprouting broccoli? Green Sprouting broccoli produces dark green heads that are packed with flavour! It is great to grow in areas with cooler nights, slow bolting and is a favourite with vegetable gardeners.
How much Green Sprouting broccoli can you grow from one plant? Green Sprouting can be harvested about three times over three months. Once the main head has been harvested the plant will begin to produce smaller broccoli heads for 4-6 weeks.
Is it hard to grow Green Sprouting broccoli from seeds? Starting Green Sprouting broccoli seeds indoors and transplanting at a later date is one of the best ways to get results. Planting out too late can mean the germination process may fail due to the quick climbing temperatures.
