Description

Honey Bear F1 Squash Seeds

Honey Bear Acorn squash is a compact, miniature acorn squash that packs a lot of flavor into 4" round, mini-acorn fruits. Each cultivar produces from three to five plants per vine, each of which tastes better than most other acorn squash on the market. Unlike many winter squash plants, the Honey Bear is fairly compact and bushy, and spreading to a maximum of 4-5’.

The fruits are ready to eat at about 1lb. and each one provides about 2 servings exactly (one in each half). It does take a long time to mature—100 days or so—but the sweet, fleshy taste makes this acorn squash well worth the wait. And since it’s resistant to powdery mildew, it can keep going all summer long without giving in to the heat.

AAS winner.

Common Questions

How do I grow Honey Bear F1 Squash? Make sure you plant your Honey Bear seeds in deep, acidic soil once the frosty season has disappeared. Sowing in late spring will allow you to harvest in midsummer. Your squash seeds will need a full sun position to really thrive.

How often should I water my Honey Bear seeds? Your Honey Bear squash seeds will need about one inch of water per week, enough to keep the soil moist 8 to 12 inches beneath the surface. If the weather is hotter than usual, managing your watering schedule will become more frequent.

How many Honey Bear F1 Squash will one plant produce? Squash harvest yields depend on the growing conditions and whether you have continued to water throughout the season. Each Honey Bear F1 seed will produce 5 to 7 squash on average.
