A quick-maturing salad green that literally “rockets” up from your soil. Adds a wonderful spicy flavour to your salads.
[35 days] Rocket or Arugula is one of the most popular arugula varieties on the market. It’s a favorite of supermarkets, restaurants, and home growers alike. One of the earliest of spring greens, Rocket Arugula takes just 3 weeks to produce a plethora of dark green, tender baby leaves perfect for salads. Wait just a week longer for the larger cooking greens. The peppery taste will spice up any salad and even tastes great in soup.
Grows best in cool weather (spring or fall).
How do you grow Rocket from seed? Sow the seeds broadly direct to the ground over the spring and summer months for the best results. If you wish to grow rocket over the cooler and winter months our recommendation is to sow in trays.
Does Rocket regrow after cutting? Yes! Cut the rocket leaves about 1cm above the soil surface. Leaving some exposed will allow the plant to regrow.
Can you eat rocket flowers? If you rocket has started to flower, yes you can eat some the flowers they taste just like the leaves however it is recommended to harvest before the plant starts to flower!
