Cherry Belle Radish Seeds
[25 days] The classic salad radish, Cherry Belle has a bright cherry-red exterior crisp, white flesh on the inside. The roots are uniform and less subject to pithiness than most other radishes. While it performs best in cool weather, you can often get away with planting it all summer long in our cool English climes. Matures in a whopping 20-30 days. Best used when on the smaller side.
An All-American Selections (AAS) winner.
How long do Cherry Belle radishes take to grow? Cherry Belle radishes take about 4 weeks to grow after germinating and can be harvest most of the growing season. The germination process takes under 7 days.
Do Cherry Belle radishes need full sun? If you're growing your Cherry Belle radishes in spring then they will need to be sown in a sunny spot. In summer radishes grow well in a shaded spot with cooler soil, if the soil is too hot then they will bolt and become a spicy unpleasant taste.
Why are my Cherry Belle radishes hot? The spice levels of a radish depends on a number of different things. They could have taken too long to reach maturity, stressed from the heat of the soil or are old. You can reduce the bitterness by washing in cold water or baking with other vegetables.
