Should I pick the flowers off of my Marketmore cucumber plants? If you allow the male flowers on a Marketmore cucumber to pollinate the female flowers then you can end of with a bitter-tasting cucumber. Picking off the male flowers once a week will eliminate the bitter compound called cucurbitacin.
Can you grow Marketmore cucumbers outside? Yes. Marketmore is one of the few cucumbers that will thrive inside a greenhouse or in the outdoors. Provide a trellis for climbing and a sunny spot in the garden or allotment and you will be rewarded with fresh outdoor-grown cucumbers.
