Traditional dark green slicing cucumber with a mild flavour and consistent cropping. One of our favourites!
[70 days] One of the most popular varieties of cucumber, Marketmore cucumbers produce everything one is wanting from a traditional cucumber: mildly sweet, straight fruits with dark green, protective skin. The fruits are up to 9” long and the plants produce over a long season, regardless of whether the weather is hot or cool. Highly disease-resistant and extremely reliable.

How can I speed up Marketmore cucumber seed germination? You can help germinate cucumber seeds faster by folding them into a dry paper towel and soaking it in warm water. Place the paper towel and your seeds in a glass, cover with cellohane and stick the seesd on a sunny windowsill for about 4 days. Once your seeds have sprouted you can plant them out into deep modular trays ready for transplanting at a later date.
What are good companion vegetables for Marketmore cucumbers? Sweetcorn makes an excellent companion vegetable for cucumbers because their stalks act as natural framework for vining Marketmore cucumbers. This helps save as much space as possible in your garden.
Should I pick the flowers off of my Marketmore cucumber plants? If you allow the male flowers on a Marketmore cucumber to pollinate the female flowers then you can end of with a bitter tasting cucumber. Picking off the male flowers once a week will eliminate the bitter compound called cucurbitacin.
