Description

Crop Builder Garden Lime

Crop Builder Garden Lime is a natural soil conditioner that helps to reduce soil acidity and raise pH levels, creating healthier growing conditions for a wide range of plants. Rich in calcium carbonate with added magnesium, it strengthens plant cell walls, supports vibrant leaf growth, and helps unlock nutrients already present in the soil. Ideal for use on all garden soils, lawns, and vegetable plots.

By improving soil structure, Garden Lime enables beneficial soil bacteria to thrive and enhances the availability of plant food. It’s especially effective on heavy clay soils, where it helps coagulate tiny clay particles, making the soil more friable, easier to work, and better drained. Regular use improves soil fertility and creates the perfect environment for strong, healthy roots.

Typical analysis: Calcium Carbonate (CaCO₃) 94%, Magnesium (Mg) 2%. Equivalent neutralising value (ENV) approx. 54%.

Application rate: Apply evenly at 50–150g per m², depending on soil acidity. For heavy or acidic soils, repeat every 6 months. Avoid mixing directly with fertilisers or manure; apply at least two weeks apart for best results.

Perfect for lime-loving plants such as cabbages, brassicas, peas, beans, lavender, and fruit trees. Also ideal for lawns, flower borders, and improving heavy clay soils.

Common Questions

When should I apply Crop Builder Garden Lime? Apply in autumn or early spring, before planting or sowing. It can also be used after harvesting to prepare soil for the next crop rotation.

Can I use Garden Lime on all plants? It’s ideal for alkaline-loving plants but should be avoided around acid-loving plants such as rhododendrons, azaleas, and blueberries.

How does lime improve clay soil? It binds fine clay particles together, improving aeration and drainage, and makes the soil easier to dig and cultivate.

Does it replace fertiliser? No. Lime corrects soil pH and improves nutrient availability but should be used alongside a balanced fertiliser for complete plant nutrition.
