[65 days] An old heirloom variety that produces dense, grey-green heads that are slightly larger than softballs (3-5 lbs). References to it can be found in seed catalogues as early as 1927, where they say “This Danish variety is highly praised by all who have grown it.” It’s a first-early cabbage and grows so quickly, the slugs and other pests don’t have much of a chance to take hold. It also happens to grow quite compactly, making it the cabbage of choice for gardens without a lot of room.

Tastes great fresh and has delicious butter undertones mixed with a sweet, spicy flavour when cooked.

As a first-early variety, it’s generally slightly larger than Early Bird and comes on earlier than Copenhagen.

'Yellows' disease resistant.

Delicious raw, steamed, stir-fried, or krauted. Not great for storing.
