Description

Yellow Carolina Reaper Chilli Seeds

[110 days to yellow] Not for the faint-hearted, Yellow Carolina Reaper delivers all the heat of its infamous red cousin—clocking in at a blistering 1.5 to 2 million Scoville Heat Units—alongside a surprising hit of fruity sweetness. This intensely hot chilli ripens from green to a vivid yellow and has the same gnarled, wrinkled skin and pointed tail that chilli fanatics know and fear.

The fruit typically grows to about 5cm long and 3cm wide and, despite its heat, has a delicious tropical-like flavour that pairs surprisingly well in sauces, salsas, and even chilli jams. Just one pepper goes a long way. As with all superhots, always handle with gloves and avoid enclosed spaces when cooking or drying—especially if using a dehydrator.

Yellow Carolina Reapers grow best in consistently warm conditions and need a long season to reach full maturity, ideally under cover or in a greenhouse. With the right care, each plant will reward you with an eye-watering harvest.

Height: 90–120cm (36–48"). Spread: 45cm (18").

Common Questions

How long does it take Yellow Carolina Reaper to ripen? Expect ripe yellow pods in around 110 days from transplanting, depending on growing conditions. The pods change from green to vibrant yellow when fully mature.

Do Yellow Carolina Reapers taste different from red ones? Yes! While they share the same searing heat, the yellow version has a more noticeable fruity-citrus flavour before the heat takes over.

Should I grow Yellow Carolina Reapers in a greenhouse? Definitely recommended. These chillies thrive in a long, hot growing season. A greenhouse or polytunnel helps maintain the heat they need to mature fully in the UK.
