Pot Black Pepper Seeds

[90 days to black] This little beauty was bred here in the UK and sports dark green leaves tinged with black, purple-coloured flowers, and glossy black fruits which eventually ripen to red. The fruits grow up to 3-4cm (1-1.5") long, have an excellent falvour, and rate between 30,000 and 50,000 SHUs. The plants themselves are neat and compact, and make excellent potted plants, either in a window sill or in a container garden. If you’re looking for a chili that’s beautiful and packs a punch, then the “Pot Black” is for you.

Height: 50cm (20"). Spread: 40cm (16").

Common Questions

Can you overwinter Pot Black chilli plant? Yes. If you want to keep your plant active over the winter you can transfer the pot inside and water every 2 weeks. Wrap your plant in fleece if you place you plant in a tunnel. Your Pot Black plant won't grow much in the winter months but will get a head start once spring arrives.

When should you start Pot Black pepper seeds indoors? You should start sowing your pepper seeds to germinate 6-10 weeks before the final frost of the season. The germination process should take around 14 days to start sprouting.

What is eating my Pot Black pepper seedlings? There are quite a few pests that your Pot Black plants will attract. Some of them include pepper weevils, pepper hornworms and aphids. Allowing these to continuously attack your pepper plants can cause serious problems once it is time to harvest your peppers. You can spray your plants and leaves with a few drops of washing up liquid and water to kill the pests that are attacking your crops.
