A high-yielding Italian favorite, this variety has long, tapered yellow fruit with a delightfully sweet flavour. Great for stuffing.
[70-80 days to yellow] This large sweet pepper grows up to 9 inches (20 cm) long and 2 inches (4 cm) wide. The tapered fruit turns a golden yellow when ripe. The flesh is thick, which combined with the size of the peppers makes them perfect for stuffing. A mid- to late-season producer, Ringo starts late but produces well into the autumn, often well after other varieties have stopped.
Because of their heavy fruit load, these Ringo peppers are best planted straight into the ground (i.e. not containers) and given strong support.
Delicious both raw and cooked. Use in salads, stuffed, stir-fried, or roasted.
Note: If you have access to grow lights and a heated propagator you can start sowing your plants in December and January to give you a head start on the year.
