Scotch Bonnet Red Chilli Seeds
[75-100 days] Originally from Jamaica, these little cousins to the habanero pack a punch at 100,000–400,000 SHU (most jalapeño peppers are between 2,500 to 8,000). Growing to just 3/4" long and 1-1/2" wide, these little thin-skinned peppers look like patty pan squash (think Tam O' Shanter hat) and have an absolutely amazing flavour—if you can stand the heat. In fact, it’s the chillie that gives Caribbean jerk cuisine much of its unique flavour.
Each chilli plant produces quite a quantity of fruit throughout the heat of the summer. The fruits themselves can be used green, pumpkin orange, or fire red. Save the seeds from any ripe chillies and plant them again next year!
Height: 18” (45 cm)
Note: If you have access to grow lights and a heated propagator you can start sowing your plants in December and January to give you a head start on the year.
