A perennial herb which produces broader leaves than normal chives, and has a delicate garlic taste. A tasty addition to salads and cooked dishes.

Hardy to -15c perfect to grow and over winter anywhere in the UK. Cut and come again plant, will grow with regular cuttings or picking to promote strong growth. Garlic chives are are used extensively in Oriental cooking adding flavour to lots of dishes like stir fries, soups, omelettes and as garnishes to salads.

How do you grow Garlic Herb plants from seed? Sow your seeds indoors 4 to 6 weeks before the last frost of Spring, keeping the soil moist throughout the germination cycle. The germination will take 7 to 10 days and your Garlic Chives can be transplanted to the garden 4 weeks later!

How tall do Garlic Chive plants grow? Garlic Chives produce flat green leaves that have a mild garlic taste and is the perfect addition to many recipes. Your Garlic Chive plant will grow to about 20 inches tall once established.

Why is my Garlic Chive plant dying? Your Garlic Chives plant may be running out of room to grow and may be suffering. Consider pruning your plant to allow more space for your plant to grow. If the leaves are turning yellow at the tops then they may be older leaves that are dying, otherwise if a leaf turns yellow entirely then cut them away from the plant and place in your compost pile!
