A large, blood-red onion with excellent storage capacities and a wonderful, strong flavour. One of the longest storing red onions around.
[180 days] A mid-late maturing variety, Red Baron onions produce firm, globe-shaped bulbs with a beautiful, blood-red skin and red-rimmed flesh inside. It has a stronger flavour than most varieties, and works well in just about any dish that relies on onion as a key part of the flavour. When planted early, the bulbs can come out quite large. Their strong skins lend towards their excellent keeping abilities, and stored properly they should last you until it’s time to harvest your next crop.
